Social work with people who have risky sexual behavior

Abstract

Risky sexual behavior is one of the forms of deviant behavior: activity that does not correspond to the norms, stereotypes, patterns of sexual behavior established in society and is aimed at achieving such a sexual goal, which is associated with the risk of negative medical conditions (AIDS, diseases sexually transmitted, unwanted pregnancy), psychological (formation of sexual deviations), social (prostitution) and other consequences.The concept of risky sexual behavior as a socially significant problem of the modern world is defined, the main ways of organizing social work with persons of the «risk» group are outlined, and it is stated that social work contributes to the solution of social problems of modern society; a thorough sociological study of the spread of sexually transmitted diseases as a result of risky sexual behavior was conducted and the technologies of social work with clients who have risky sexual behavior were considered. The research of domestic researchers was analyzed, which noted that risky sexual behavior includes: early sexual debut, low awareness of the peculiarities of sexual life, unprotected sexual contact, frequent change of sexual partners, combination of sexual activity with alcohol and drug use, etc.The negative consequences of risky sexual behavior are the spread of sexually transmitted infections, HIV/AIDS, early unplanned pregnancies, and abortions. In addition, people with risky sexual behavior can become victims of various negative acts of a sexual nature (rape, lewd acts), be involved in sexual exploitation (prostitution, porn business). Practical significance of the research results: the research can serve as material summarizing the previous experience of organizing social work with persons with risky sexual behavior; a starting point for new research in the field of social work, namely: the use of social technologies, forms, methods, means of influence on representatives of "risk groups" in order to reduce the level of social danger of the spread of sexually transmitted infections, as well as as lecture material in institutions of higher and postgraduate education when teaching the "social work" course
