The journal Management and Business accepts for consideration only original manuscripts that have not previously been published and are not under consideration by another publication.
To identify textual overlap, all submitted materials are screened using iThenticate software. The Editorial Board regards plagiarism as a breach of academic integrity and of the standards of professional conduct applicable to authors, reviewers and editors.
The Editorial Board analyses the text-similarity report and makes its decision with due regard to the nature and extent of the identified overlap and whether quotations and references have been properly presented.
The following criteria apply:

• where the text originality score exceeds 85%, the manuscript may proceed to further consideration;
• where the originality score is between 75% and 85%, the manuscript is returned to the author for the review and correction of quotations, citations and references;
• where the text originality score is below 75%, the manuscript is not accepted for consideration.

Textual overlap with any single source must not exceed 3%, except in the case of properly formatted quotations, titles of regulatory documents, established terminology and bibliographic references.
The similarity score generated by the software is not the sole basis for determining whether plagiarism has occurred. The final decision is made by the Editorial Board following a substantive assessment of the report.
Where inappropriate textual borrowing is identified before publication, the manuscript may be returned for revision or rejected, depending on the nature and seriousness of the violation.
Where plagiarism is identified after publication, the Editorial Office conducts an investigation in accordance with the journal’s publication ethics policy and the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). The author is given an opportunity to provide an explanation. If a material violation is confirmed, the article may be corrected or retracted.
